About Ramisilo

Floristry
taught with purpose

Ramisilo is a specialist floristry education service connecting students across Australia and internationally with practitioners who teach from real experience - not textbooks. Our masterclasses are structured around what actually works in professional settings, from bridal arrangements to seasonal studio work.

Our background

Where it started

Ramisilo began as a small studio in Perth offering weekend workshops for people who wanted to move beyond hobbyist flower arranging. Over time, the format shifted toward structured curriculum - shorter, focused modules that fit around full-time schedules without sacrificing depth. The online platform launched to serve students who couldn't travel but wanted the same quality of instruction. Today participants join from across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Southeast Asia.

What shapes our teaching

Three things we won't compromise on

Each masterclass is designed around these principles - not as a brand statement, but because they came directly from student feedback over years of iteration.

Craft first

Technique before aesthetics

Every module begins with the physical mechanics - stem conditioning, wire gauge selection, foam-free structural support. Students who understand why a design holds together can adapt to any brief. Those who only learn the visual result can't.

Real context

Scenarios drawn from actual commissions

Practice exercises use real client briefs - a 40-guest autumn wedding, a hotel lobby seasonal refresh, a sympathy arrangement with a strict budget. Students work through the constraints, not around them.

Honest feedback

Critique that's actually useful

Instructors review submitted work with written notes that reference specific choices - not general encouragement. Progress takes longer this way, but it sticks.

The instructors

People who still work in studios

None of our instructors teach exclusively. Each one maintains an active practice - seasonal floristry, event work, or wholesale supply relationships. That's a deliberate requirement, not a coincidence. It means the techniques they demonstrate are ones they used last week, not ones they learned a decade ago.

Instructor availability is limited by design. Smaller cohorts per session mean more time spent on individual submissions and fewer generic responses.
